Gr.3 victory for Querari sibling

Posted 27 October 2016 at 19:50

QUIDURA, a three-year-old Dubawi half-sister to Maine Chance Farms’ popular young stallion Querari, opened her stakes account in style this past weekend with a facile victory in Keeneland’s  Gr.3 Pin Oak Valley Stakes.

The Gestut Fährhof homebred was content to sit just off the pace through the early stages of the 1700m turf race and after closing steadily, she drew alongside leader My Impression at the top of the straight. The pair briefly matched strides before Quidura put away her rival and drew clear in the straight to cruise under the wire a determined winner, scoring by the best part of two lengths.

Successful in three of four career starts, this marked the first Graded victory for Quidura, who remains perfect in two North American outings, after accounting for an allowance race at Belmont Park on September 18.

The filly is the third graded stakes winner produced by stakes-placed Quetena (Acatenango), who, in addition to  Querari and Quidura, has also produced Gr.3 Bavarian Classic winner Quasillo (Sea The Stars).
