Entries for the 2019 Track And Ball Charity Turf Challenge
2019 Track And Ball Charity Turf ChallengeCharity Turf Challenge is an exciting competition of skill that offers fans of the Sport of Horseracing a unique opportunity to test their skill – after all, racing is the “Intelligent Bet!” Racing South Africa, the competition host, will provide a list of horses that are thought to be campaigning in KZN for the Champion’s Season. Only horses from this list are eligible. The aim of the Charity Turf Challenge is to select a team of horses you feel are most likely to score points during the period of the Champions Season. We have increased the number of horses to 12 per team, BUT only the top 10 point scorers from each entry will be recorded.
A list of all Graded races is provided and whilst the emphasis remains on these feature races, ALL winners throughout the country will be eligible to earn points (see below for point scoring system). The 2019 Track and Ball Charity Turf Challenge kicks off on the Independent On Saturday Drill Hall Stakes and Daisy Guineas meeting, Friday 3 May 2018, and finishes on eLan Gold Cup day, “Super Saturday”, 23 July 2018. Once again, Turffontein’s Premier’s Champions Challenge RaceDay on Saturday 4 May is included, thus introducing a host of interesting permutations to the competition!
In these trying economic times, we’ve decided pay out prize money (same quantum as in previous years) to 7th place:
1st R75 000; 2nd R25 000; 3rd R15 000; 4th R10 000; 5th R7 500; 6th R5 000 and 7th R2 500. The stand-alone prize for the entry that earns the most points on Vodacom Durban July Day will be pitched at R10 000.
